Outreach Worker – Polish Speaker in Ealing, London, London, United Kingdom

St Mungo’s Direct Employer

Outreach Worker – Polish Speaker

1x Fixed term contract until 31st March 2020

37.5hrs per week (10am – 6pm) with some late night/early morning and weekend work

Do you have a passion for working with people and helping to end homelessness for rough sleepers? If so, St Mungo’s is the workplace for you. This is a great opportunity to join a charity that is committed to ending homelessness and rebuilding lives.

In response to the government’s Rough Sleeping Strategy and pledge to end rough sleeping by 2027 we are funded by LB Ealing to run an Outreach service working with rough sleepers in the borough.

St Mungo’s Ealing Street Outreach team helps to move rough sleepers off from the streets, by providing support and advice on a range of services including healthcare, drug and alcohol treatment, reconnection, community support and housing. This role would be a great opportunity for candidates who are keen to develop an existing career in the homelessness sector.

To succeed, you will have demonstrable experience of engaging and assessing clients on the streets and of delivering a case management approach, with homeless people and clients who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed. You will also have experience of creating partnerships and have confidence in report writing and data collection, combined with a 'can do' solution focused attitude. You will also be someone who is proficient in written and spoken Polish. You will also be a car driver and hold a valid driving licence.

We offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, childcare, unsocial hours payments, cycle and eye care voucher schemes. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities, in support of their personal and professional development.

Flexibility is needed, as you will be required to conduct regular Outreach work in the evening/early morning or at weekends.

Closing date: 10.00am, 13 May 2019. Interview and assessments on: 20 May 2019.

It is a requirement for this post that an enhanced DBS disclosure check, will be undertaken for the successful candidate.

At St Mungo’s, equality, diversity and inclusion are central to the organisation's values and how we work. We are in the top 50 of Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index 2019, we are also proud to have been awarded Personnel Today’s 2018 Diversity and Inclusion (Public Sector) award and we are a Disability Confident Employer. To ensure that our workforce reflects the diversity of our clients as well as the communities that we live and work within, we encourage and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
